In our customized cooperation project with top international auction house CHRISTIE'S (佳士得), we deeply analyzed the core requirements and industry pain points of high-end luxury gift boxes. In response to Christie's four core challenges of "high-end gift scene adaptation, multi-layer storage structure design, precise matching of brand tone, and logistics transportation protection", we created this red highlight handheld mahjong gift box through precision craftsmanship and modular customization solutions in the box industry, providing a complete landing solution for customized packaging cooperation of B-end high-end brands.

I 、 Collaboration Background and Customer Core Pain Points Analysis
As a top auction house in the world, Christie's customized gifts are aimed at high-end collectors, corporate clients, and VIP members. Gift boxes are not only storage carriers, but also an extension of brand tone and high-end services. In the early stages of cooperation, the Christie's team identified four core pain points, which are also common challenges in the high-end luxury gift box industry:
1. Structural pain points: Mahjong gift boxes need to carry multiple categories of accessories such as mahjong tiles, chips, dice, etc. Traditional single-layer inner trays cannot achieve classified storage, and accessories are prone to shaking and collision during transportation, leading to wear and tear; At the same time, it is necessary to consider portability and meet the needs of high-end customers for carrying and gift delivery when going out.
2. Tone pain points: Christie's brand tone is "high-end, professional, and international", and the gift box needs to match a luxury grade texture while incorporating the cultural attributes of Chinese mahjong to avoid a disconnect between packaging texture and brand positioning, which cannot meet the aesthetic demands of high-end collectors.
3. Pain points of protection: The gift box needs to be adapted to international logistics transportation and offline gift scenarios, and should have excellent impact resistance and deformation resistance to avoid box deformation and accessory damage during transportation, and reduce after-sales compensation costs.
4. Customization pain points: It is necessary to achieve precise implantation of brand identity, while meeting the needs of small batch customization and fast delivery, and adapting to flexible scenarios such as Christie's VIP activities and corporate gifts. In response to these pain points, we have formed a specialized customization team to create a full process solution from four dimensions: structural design, material craftsmanship, brand implantation, and supply chain collaboration. II. Structural Design: Multi-tier drawer-style inner tray addresses the contradiction between classification and portability.

Traditional mahjong gift boxes often feature a single-layer inner tray, where accessories are jumbled together, prone to shaking and wear, and lack tiered storage space, failing to meet the classification and storage needs of high-end customers. We designed a dual-tier drawer-style inner tray structure tailored to Christie's requirements, fundamentally resolving the contradiction between classification and portability:

1. Main box body + drawer-style inner tray dual-tier structure: The main box body features a clamshell design with a built-in drawer-style tiered inner tray. The upper tier can accommodate mahjong tiles, while the lower tier can store accessories such as chips, dice, manuals, etc., achieving precise storage with "one item per compartment" to prevent accessories from colliding and wearing during transportation. The drawer-style structure utilizes hidden slide rails specifically designed for the box industry, ensuring smooth and stable opening and closing, maintaining fit even after repeated use, and enhancing the user experience.
2. Portable Hardware Structure: The front of the box features a stainless steel carrying handle paired with a golden hardware lock catch, satisfying the need for portability while enhancing the high-end quality of the gift box. The handle is ergonomically designed for comfortable gripping, suitable for high-end customers to carry outdoors and for gift delivery; the hardware lock catch adopts an anti-misopening design to prevent accidental opening of the box lid during transportation and ensure the safety of accessories.
3. CNC die-cutting inner tray process: The inner tray is made of high-density EVA material specifically used in the box industry. Through the CNC die-cutting process, it precisely matches the dimensions of mahjong tiles, chips, and dice, achieving "zero shaking" fixation. At the same time, the surface of the inner tray is covered with skin-friendly flannelette to avoid direct friction between the accessories and the inner tray, which can cause scratches, thus protecting the integrity of the accessories.
During the structural prototyping stage, we optimized the damping coefficient of the slide rail and the die-cutting precision of the inner tray to address the issues of "sluggish sliding and insufficient fit of the inner tray" raised by Christie's. Ultimately, we achieved smooth sliding and tight fit, perfectly meeting the customer's needs.

III. Material and Craftsmanship: High-gloss piano paint + solid wood base material.

The core competitiveness of creating a high-end luxury gift box lies in the high-end quality of materials and craftsmanship, which is also the core requirement of Christie's brand tone. In response to Christie's needs, we have selected high-end materials and craftsmanship in the box industry to create a luxury-grade gift box quality.

1. High-density solid wood base material: The main body of the gift box is made of high-density solid wood panels, which have excellent resistance to deformation and impact, effectively resisting squeezing and collision during international logistics transportation, avoiding deformation and cracking of the box body. At the same time, the wood has undergone professional moisture-proof and anti-cracking pre-treatment, adapting to different temperature and humidity environments in different regions, extending the service life of the gift box and meeting the long-term collection needs of high-end customers.
2. High-gloss piano paint process: The surface of the box body adopts a red high-gloss piano paint process, which presents a mirror-like gloss through multiple coats of primer and topcoat spraying and polishing, creating a high-end visual quality that perfectly matches Christie's luxury brand tone. The piano paint process has undergone scratch-resistant, wear-resistant, and anti-fingerprint treatment, making it less prone to scratches and fingerprints during daily use and terminal display, eliminating the need for frequent maintenance and reducing the cost of use for customers.
3. Skin-friendly velvet lining: The inside of the box lid and the surface of the inner tray are covered with off-white skin-friendly velvet, forming a visual contrast with the red high-gloss paint, enhancing the tactile quality and storage comfort of the gift box. At the same time, the cushioning performance of the velvet can further absorb vibrations during transportation, protecting the accessories.
During the craftsmanship and sample making stage, we optimized the spraying process and wood pre-treatment process in response to the issues of "uneven paint gloss and substrate deformation" raised by Christie's. Ultimately, we achieved a uniform paint finish and stable substrate, meeting the craftsmanship standards of luxury goods.

IV. Brand Integration: Bronzing Logo + Customized Design.

The core value of high-end brand gift boxes lies in the precise integration of brand symbols, which is also the core requirement of Christie's customized projects. We have designed a comprehensive brand integration plan tailored to Christie's brand tone: 1. Bronzing Brand Logo: The front and inside of the box lid employ the high-temperature bronzing process specifically used in the box industry to integrate Christie's Chinese and English brand logos "CHRISTIE'S 佳士得". The bronzing logo stands out against the red high-gloss paint, creating a strong visual impact and reinforcing the brand's visual memory points. The bronzing process utilizes imported gold foil, which is full-colored, durable, and not prone to peeling, meeting the long-term collection needs of high-end customers.
2. Customized inner tray design: The die-cutting layout of the inner tray can be flexibly adjusted according to the dimensions of Christie's accessories. Additionally, customized exclusive copywriting and event themes can be bronzed on the inside of the box lid, adapting to different scenarios such as Christie's VIP events and corporate gifts, achieving personalized customization.
3. Hardware customization: The handheld handle and lock catch can be customized with exclusive LOGOs and textures according to brand requirements, further enhancing the brand symbol. In this collaboration, simple hardware was selected to match Christie's high-end and minimalist tone.
During the brand integration and proofing stage, we optimized the gilding positioning mold and process parameters to address the issues of "gilding logo position deviation and uneven color" raised by Christie's. Ultimately, we achieved precise logo positioning and full-color rendering, perfectly matching the brand's VI system.
